Questions about this document: support@budj.nz
These terms cover the budj subscription, what budj does and does not undertake to do on your behalf, and how either side ends the arrangement.
budj is not available yet. Nothing is being sold on this site, and signing up to the waitlist commits you to nothing but an email when it launches.
The subscription
budj is sold as a subscription through the App Store. Apple takes the payment, holds the billing relationship, and sets the renewal date.
That has a consequence worth stating plainly: budj cannot cancel your subscription for you. Deleting your budj account does not stop Apple charging you. To stop the charges you have to cancel the subscription in your Apple account settings, and doing that is the only thing that works.
Prices and what each plan includes are shown in the app before you buy. Changes to either apply from your next renewal, never retrospectively.
What budj does on your behalf
budj carries out rules you write. A rule has a trigger and actions - when this happens, do that - and budj acts only when a rule you created is triggered.
Where a rule moves money, that movement is authorised by you in advance, through your bank, for the specific accounts you nominated. budj cannot move money to an account you have not authorised, and cannot authorise itself.
budj reads your accounts through Akahu and never holds your bank login. You can revoke that access at any time, from budj or from your bank, and doing so stops budj acting on those accounts.
What budj does not undertake
budj is not a bank, does not hold your money, and is not financial advice. Deciding whether a rule is a good idea is your decision, and budj expresses no opinion about it.
budj depends on your bank and on Akahu to know that money has arrived. If either is unavailable or slow, a rule may run late or not at all. budj does not guarantee that a rule runs at a particular moment, and you should not write a rule that assumes it will.
You are responsible for what your rules do. A rule that moves money moves real money, and budj carries out what you wrote rather than what you meant.
Ending it
You can stop using budj at any time. Delete your account in the app and everything held about you is removed - see the privacy policy for exactly what that means and for the one narrow exception.
Cancel your App Store subscription separately, in your Apple account settings. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are two actions, and doing one does not do the other.
budj may end your access if these terms are breached, or if continuing would be unlawful. Where that happens and you have paid for a period you have not used, that portion is refunded.
Changes to these terms
The date at the top of this page is the date these terms last changed.
Changes that materially affect what you are agreeing to will be notified rather than quietly published, and take effect from your next renewal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be contracted out of.
